WIDOW ALLEGES SON WAS MURDERED

Kuntula Parabhue, a widow of Khairbhadi village of Komna block under Nuapada district, did not even get a chance to see the body of her minor son Sibkumar.
There was no funeral or ritual even. She was told that the body of her son was hanging from a tree at a distance of 700 metres from the brick kiln, where he was working.
The labour contractors informed that the body was swollen and decomposed and thus, was cremated there. Kuntula is yet to get the post mortem report and death certificate.
Sibkumar (15) was a minor, according to law. However, such laws have no bearing upon those who better know how to bend them for their personal benefit. Sibkumar was persuaded by two labour Sardars in November last to accompany them to work in ‘SUN’ brick company in Kondapur village under Medipali PS of Jagtial district in Telengana. Kuntula was unwilling to send him off , but Sibkumar insisted.
“He was worried because our financial situation was broken due to the consecutive droughts of last three years. When the labour Sardar offered Rs 25,000 for six months of work in the kiln, he immediately agreed,” said Kuntula.
“On April 19 last, he told me over phone that he was returning on April 25, but the message of his missing came after two days and subsequently, the Sardars informed me on April 30 that that he was dead,” she added mournfully.
The labour Sardars are Harihar Parabhue of Thikpali village under Komna PS and Lalit Bhainsal of Kharla village under Turekela PS, Balangir district. “These people say that, my son committed suicide. But I don’t believe. Those who had accompanied my son to the brick kiln in November said after returning that, they searched every nook and corner in 5-6 km vicinity of the kiln but the body was not to be found.
Thus it is a mystery how did the body appear on the fourth day, that too, in a decomposed condition,” asked Kuntula and further added that the feet of the body touched the ground which created suspicions about the cause of death.
“Moreover, I have heard that the police have overlooked various other circumstantial evidences like the stain of blood found a little far from the body and missing of SIM card in the mobile, etc,” Kuntula claimed.
Pointing at murder angle, she told that the body was hanged after Sibkumar was killed. But the police of Telengana are not buying this argument.
Kuntula has been running from pillar to post to lodge an FIR against the Sardars in Nuapada district, but the police here are also not paying any heed. “The Sardar who took my minor son to an unsafe work place in Telengana, belongs to Komna block, why can’t a case be registered here against him,” she asked. Kuntula has already approached the District Labour Officer of Nuapada district. It is learnt that the DLO has even expressed his helplessness.

“Is there no one to provide me justice,” asked Kuntula desperately.
