the pioneer PATDARHA PEOPLE DEMAND DUES FOR WELLS DUG Monday, 09 June 2014 | AJIT PANDA | NUAPADA Engineers only give assurance Villagers in Patdarha plateau in Nuapada district have demanded that they be paid dues soon towards the wages and other expenditures they incurred in digging drinking water wells under the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWS&S) department. According to information, RWS&S officials had asked people of 12 hamlets of the plateau to construct drinking water wells in their respective hamlets last year with assurance that they would be paid the cost as per the Government norms. However, the officials are now shying away from the commitment when the works have been completed, villagers alleged. Earlier contractors from Nayagarh were employed on behalf of the RWS&S to dig such wells in eight places of the plateau.
